Project Connect has been created because we want children with mental health challenges to have equal opportunity to lead a normal life without being burdened by stigma and other barriers to success. The project puts youth and their families in the driver’s seat when making decisions about services and promotes respect of each family’s unique culture.
Working together is the best option for stabilizing children and families. When this happens, we all benefit from the success. The child and family have a better chance to realize their hopes and dreams, and the community benefits when it puts aside its fears and negative feelings about mental health services.
